TEAM TEACHING AND COACHING AND MENTORING AT SMK PULAU GAYA

CLASS  : 20 FORM 1 STUDENTS

Scenario at SMK Pulau Gaya:- This school is a secondary school located at an island 15 minutes boat ride from Jesselton Jetty. The students are mostly from fishermen families, they live in water villagers without electricity or freshwater supplies. The students receive education mainly from their teachers in school because their parents are mostly illeterate. The school attendence are below 80% monthly.

- The students in this class have not mastered the basic Mathematical skills of addition,
   multiplication, division and substraction.
- At this lesson the teacher used red bean seeds to help students understand the concept of addition
   and substraction.
- By using the seeds the students can group the seeds according to the instruction in the handouts
